  • Lisicki survives to reach Luxembourg final; Wickmayer dismissed

Luxembourg, Luxembourg (Sports Network) - German Sabine Lisicki outlasted Shahar Peer on Saturday to secure a spot in the final at the $220,000 Luxembourg Open, while Yanina Wickmayer lost in the other semi to Timea Bacsinszky.

The sixth-seeded Lisicki emerged with a hard-fought 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5) win over her Israeli counterpart, advancing to her third career championship match (1-1). She won her maiden title earlier this year at Charleston.

Bacsinszky battled back after dropping the first set to post a 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 victory over the fifth-seeded Belgian. Another win on Sunday will give the 20- year-old Swiss her first career WTA Tour crown.

This week's titlist will claim $37,000.
