  Washington, D.C. (Sports Network) - D.C. United midfielder Danny Szetela had surgery on his right knee on Thursday night and is expected to miss six weeks, the Major League Soccer team announced.

  "We're pleased with the results of Danny?s surgery and are looking forward to his return to the field," United General Manager Dave Kasper said.

  Szetela was acquired as an allocation in July of 2009, making four MLS appearances for United last season. He also played in five CONCACAF Champions League matches during the campaign, starting three times.
