  • United acquires forward Cristman from Wizards

    Washington, D.C.

    (Sports Network) - D.C.

United acquired forward Adam Cristman from the Kansas City Wizards in return for one of its international roster spots until December 31, 2011, the Major League Soccer clubs announced on Wednesday.

"We are pleased to have concluded a trade for Adam," United General Manager Dave Kasper said. "He is a hard working, athletic striker who will provide solid cover for us. We look forward to having him join us in pre-season camp." Last season while with the Wizards, Cristman played in just five games because of a broken foot after being acquired from New England in the offseason. It is the second time in two seasons that Cristman has been picked up by current United coach Curt Onalfo, who was Kansas City's coach at the time of the trade from the Revolution.

Cristman, who was drafted in the fourth round by New England in 2007, scored 10 goals in 46 games for the Revolution before his trade to Kansas City.
