  • Reports: Union's stadium to be called PPL Park


    Chester, PA (Sports Network) - Energy company Pennsylvania Power & Light is closing in on the naming sponsorship rights to the Philadelphia Union's new stadium in Chester, according to numerous reports.

    The new 18,500-seat soccer stadium will become PPL Park, with the company reportedly contributing $20 million over 10 years to the Major League Soccer expansion club.

    The Union's home schedule starts April 10 against D.C.

    United at Lincoln Financial Field, with the PPL opener scheduled for sometime in late June or early July.
