Stanzi was sacked in the end zone by Corey Wootton and fumbled. Northwestern's Marshall Thomas recovered for a touchdown with 11:46 remaining in the first half as Stanzi remained on the turf.

After a few moments, Stanzi was able to walk off the field under his own power while appearing to favor his right leg. He went to the locker room soon after.

SEC fines Florida coach Meyer for critical comments

Commissioner Mike Slive made the announcement that Meyer was fined $30,000.

"As I stated last week, I have great respect for Commissioner Mike Slive and the Southeastern Conference and I respect this decision," Meyer said. "There was no intent to criticize an official after being asked about a situation that occurred last Saturday and I apologize for my remarks." The fine is the first since the conference voted to have all violations of SEC Bylaw 10.5.4 enforced by suspensions and fines. The rule states that coaches, assistant coaches, players, support personnel and others associated with the institution's athletics program refrain from public criticism of officials.

Rutgers-Army to square off in new Meadowlands Stadium in 2010

The Scarlet Knights and Black Knights will meet at the $1.6 billion, 82,500- seat building on October 16, 2010.

NCAA upholds Bryant's suspension

Bryant was originally ruled ineligible by the school on October 7 for improper conduct stemming from a failure to fully disclose the details of interaction with former NFL player Deion Sanders.

The Hurricanes are coming off an emotional win, as they rallied past Wake Forest 28-27, in a Halloween thriller last weekend.

"Offense couldn't do anything, defense struggled in the first half," said head coach Randy Shannon. "And then finally we started getting turnovers and the offense started moving it a little bit, and that helped us out. And I think that shows you where this team can go and be at." It was certainly a gritty effort and a nice bounce back for Miami, which was coming off a 40-37 overtime loss to Clemson the prior week.
