Eskimos sign LB Lloyd to extension

Lloyd, who signed as a free agent this past February, had 55 tackles, four sacks and a forced fumble this past season.

Over his four seasons in the CFL, he has totaled 217 tackles, 12 sacks, two interceptions and a forced fumble.

Montreal dominates CFL All-Star team

Quarterback Anthony Calvillo, running back Avon Cobourne, guard Scott Flory and receiver Kerry Watkins were named to the offensive roster. Defensive end Anwar Stewart, defensive tackle Keron Williams and linebacker Chip Cox made the defensive squad, while punter/kicker Damon Duval and Larry Taylor were named special teams All-Stars.

Calgary and Hamilton were next with four players each while Saskatchewan and Winnipeg had three players named from each team.

GAME NOTES: The top team in the CFL in 2009 finally gets back to the gridiron this weekend, as the Montreal Alouettes vie for the Eastern Division Championship at Percival Molson Stadium in Quebec City versus the British Columbia Lions.

The Als earned themselves some time off following the conclusion of the regular season because they were just so dominant. It was only a few weeks into the season that it was clear the rest of the league would be chasing after Montreal and, in all likelihood, unable to catch up.

BC's Printers heads CFL Players of the Week

Printers took home offensive player of the week honors after he led the Lions to a 34-27 overtime victory against Hamilton in the Eastern semifinal. It was Printers' eight-yard touchdown strike to Ian Smart on BC's possession in overtime that secured the win.

He ended 24-of-35 for 360 yards with the touchdown and added a rushing score in the win.

Roughriders sign DB Alexander to two-year extension

Financial details of the signing were not released.

The 24-year-old Alexander started 16 games at cornerback this season, finishing with 35 defensive tackles, three pass knockdowns and two fumble recoveries.

Calgary moves on to West Final after topping Edmonton

Burris was 19-of-32 for 264 yards, while Reynolds had 127 yards on 18 carries for the Stampeders, who will travel to play Saskatchewan in the West Final next Sunday.

Lions top Ticats in OT to reach East Final

Casey Printers threw for 360 yards and a touchdown on 24-of-35 passing for the Lions, who will travel to play Montreal in the East Final next Sunday. It figures to be a tough matchup, as the Als finished a league-best 15-3 in the regular season, including a 9-0 mark at home.

Emmanuel Arceneaux led the team with six catches for 120 yards, while Geroy Simon added five receptions for 111 yards in the win. Martell Mallet ran for 68 yards on 11 carries for the Lions.

Hamilton's Glenn tops CFL Players of the Month

Glenn, who helped the Tiger-Cats reach the postseason for the first time since 2004, earned offensive honors for completing 128-of-194 throws for 1,652 yards with eight touchdowns to three interceptions. He also rushed for a score.

The quarterback's highlight performance came during Week 16 in a loss to Montreal, when he finished 29-of-44 for 506 yards and three TDs.

Riders head West Division All-Star team

Quarterback Darian Durant highlighted the four Riders offensive selections, as he was joined by receiver Weston Dressler and linemen Gene Makowsky and Jeremy O'Day.

The five defensive players for Saskatchewan were linemen Stevie Baggs and John Chick, linebackers Tad Kornegay and Sean Lucas, as well as defensive back Lance Frazier.

Montreal dominates East Division All-Star team

A total of 16 members of the Als were selected as East All-Stars, headed by quarterback Anthony Calvillo, running back Avon Cobourne and receivers Ben Cahoon, Jamel Richardson and Kerry Watkins. Linemen Josh Bourke, Scott Flory and Bryan Chiu were also chosen on the offensive side of the ball.

Winnipeg running back Fred Reid and guard Brandon LaBatte were also honored as East offensive All-Stars, while tackle Dan Goodspeed and receiver Arland Bruce III were chosen from Hamilton.

GAME NOTES: The Hamilton Tiger-Cats try to continue their recent strong play this weekend as they welcome the British Columbia Lions for the East Division Semifinals at Ivor Wynne Stadium.

Since losing four straight games heading into the third week of October, the Tiger-Cats ran off three straight victories to get to an even 9-9 record on the campaign. Since Montreal had decided first place in the division quite a long time ago, it was only a matter of figuring out whether Hamilton would be facing an opponent from the same division in the playoffs or not. As it turns out, both Winnipeg and Toronto failed to score enough points to make the cut, which is why British Columbia is jumping over from the West Division to compete this weekend.

Edmonton's Whitlock heads CFL Players of the Week

Bryant earned Offensive Player of the Week accolades with a career-best performance in the Stampeders' 30-7 win over Edmonton. Bryant produced career highs of nine receptions and 211 yards, including three grabs of more than 40 yards, helping to set up Calgary for a pair of scores.

Hickman garnered Defensive Player of the Week honors with three sacks and four tackles in the Tiger-Cats' 26-17 victory against Toronto. Two of Hickman's sacks came in the fourth quarter, helping to deny a comeback bid by the Argonauts.
