  • NASCAR makes rule adjustments for Truck Series in 2010

Daytona Beach, FL (Sports Network) - NASCAR will implement double-file restarts for the Camping World Truck Series in 2010 as part of several rule adjustments announced for the series in the upcoming season.

The Truck Series will use the same restart format the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series instituted in June.

NASCAR also made changes with its pit stop rules. Teams will be able to change tires and add fuel during the same stop and have six crew members allowed in the service area. As a cost-cutting measure this year, teams are limited to five members over the wall instead of seven from last year, and crews are not able to change tires and refuel during the same stop.

Some engine rules also were changed.

Teams will run no more than two consecutive races without using an engine previously sealed by NASCAR officials.

EventsatDaytona InternationalSpeedwayandTalladega Superspeedway are excluded. The current rule allows teams to run no more than three consecutive races without using a sealed engine.

Teams also will have the option of using spec engines at tracks less than 1.25 miles in length.

"These rule adjustments are the results of ongoing conversations NASCAR has had with team owners, drivers and crew chiefs," Robin Pemberton, NASCAR's vice president of competition, said. "They will not only continue to assist teams with their costs, but they will help intensify the tough competition of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series."
