• Bruins sign C Whitfield, three others

  
  

  Boston, MA (Sports Network) - The Boston Bruins signed veteran center Trent Whitfield and three others to one-year deals on Monday. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

  The 32-year-old Whitfield appeared in three games with St. Louis last season and tallied one assist. In 177 career contests with the Blues, Washington and New York Rangers, the Alameda, Saskatchewan, native has 11 goals and 28 points.

  Boston also signed center Drew Larman, who has played in 22 career NHL games with Florida and has registered two goals and an assist. The 24-year-old was with Rochester of the American Hockey League the last four seasons and tallied 10 goals and 12 helpers in 61 regular season games in the 2008-09 campaign.

  The Bruins also agreed to terms with defensemen Rob Kwiet and Zach McKelvie. Neither has appeared in the NHL.
