The incident occurred during Thursday's game in Columbus, when Neal appeared to leave his feet to check Blue Jackets defenseman Marc Methot along the boards.
He missed and connected instead with Jackets forward Derek Dorsett, and the force of the contact drove Dorsett's face into the glass.

The Flyers seek their first win at HP Pavilion in over 10 years tonight when they try to snap a 10-game winless streak versus the Sharks.
Including a 4-1 loss to San Jose at home this season, the Flyers haven't beaten the Sharks since December 21, 2000, going 0-6-2 with a pair of ties in 10 meetings since. Philadelphia is also 0-3-1 with a tie in five trips to HP Pavilion since its last win there on November 5, 1999.
NHL

Vancouver now begins a five-game homestand versus Colorado tonight at GM Place in what is already the fourth meeting between the division rivals this season.
The Avalanche took the first matchup between the clubs back on October 3, but the Canucks have answered with a home victory of their own before an 8-2 triumph in Colorado last Saturday. The victory allowed Vancouver to end its swing with a 2-3-0 record.

Fresh off his first career two-goal game, Moulson will look to lead New York to another win tonight on its seven-game road trip in a matchup with the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center.
Skating in his third season, Moulson entered the 2009-10 campaign with six goals and 10 points in 29 games over the previous two seasons, both with the Los Angeles Kings. The 26-year-old has 10 goals and 18 points through 21 games with the Islanders, however, and netted a pair of tallies in Monday's 4-1 victory over Boston.

The Panthers are coming off a lopsided victory in Buffalo, winning for the third time in four games and extending their point streak to four straight contests (3-0-1).
Meanwhile, Detroit had a three-game winning streak halted by Dallas its last time out and suffered just its second regulation loss in 10 games (7-2-1).
NHL

The Bruins had dropped three straight games before picking up a close win Thursday evening in Atlanta. Boston, which was the top-seeded team in the Eastern Conference last year, is now third in the Northeast and three points behind the division-leading Sabres. Not bad considering the Bruins have just three wins (3-3-3) in nine games this month.
Patrice Bergeron got the lone goal of the shootout, and Tuukka Rask produced a solid effort with 32 saves, as Boston got by a hot Atlanta Thrashers club, 4-3, at Philips Arena.
NHL

The Capitals had a four-game winning streak halted Saturday in New Jersey, but then used the return of Alex Ovechkin to help spur them to a victory Tuesday evening in Manhattan against the New York Rangers.
Matt Bradley pumped in the go-ahead goal with 4:51 remaining in the third period, as Washington posted a 4-2 win over the Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
NHL
-
Raffi Torres and Rick Nash also lit the lamp for the Blue Jackets, who won their third straight and fifth in their last six games. The visitors activated Torres from injured reserve prior to the game, but it was Mason's return that was the most encouraging.
Blasted for eight goals in a 9-1 loss to the Red Wings last Wednesday, Mason watched from the bench as backup Mathieu Garon manned the pipes the last two games.
NHL
-
Teemu Selanne and Ryan Getzlaf each had a goal and two assists for the Ducks, who have won four of five at home. Corey Perry had two assists to extend the NHL's longest active points streak to 13, and Bobby Ryan also added a goal in the win.
"We showed some resiliency," Ryan said. "In the past, we would have let those three goals really go to our heart, and that would have been a time of self- destruction for us. But as a group, we pulled tonight and grinded out the two points." Jonas Hiller stopped 21-of-24 shots for Anaheim, which scored three power play goals in the contest.
NHL

The Blackhawks, who will be on the road for the next six games as Ringling Bros.
and Barnum & Bailey take over the United Center, made the Pengrowth Saddledome look like a circus. Patrick Kane had a goal and an assist, and Andrew Ladd, Troy Brouwer, Dustin Byfuglien and Ben Eager each scored in the resounding victory.
NHL

Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Erik Johnson scored the game-winning goal only 17 seconds into overtime on a spectacular end-to-end rush as the St. Louis Blues earned a 3-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes at Scottrade Center.
The big defenseman gathered the puck deep in the Blues end, worked his way up ice, then cut into the middle slot before firing a wrist shot past a surprised Ilya Bryzgalov for the game winner.
NHL

Ian White, Lee Stempniak, Matt Stajan and Mikhail Grabovski also tallied, while Jonas Gustavsson made 40 saves and also picked up his third career assist on Ponikarovsky's goal.
NHL

Chris Kelly had a goal and an assist for the Senators, who won back-to-back games for the first time since downing Tampa Bay and Montreal on October 15 and 17, respectively.
Matt Carkner's goal late in the first period started a string of six straight scores for the hosts with Milan Michalek and Jonathan Cheechoo also finding the back of the net.

Anaheim begins a seven-game homestand this evening against the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning, who continue their four-game road trip.
The Ducks went 0-3-1 on their swing, which ended with Monday's 5-2 loss to Pittsburgh. Anaheim was outscored 18-9 on the trek and fell to 2-4-3 as the guest this year.
NHL

The Blackhawks trip out west couldn't come at a worse time, though, as Chicago's 4-3 overtime win over San Jose at the United Center on Sunday was the club's seventh straight at home. The 'Hawks wrapped a perfect four-game homestand with the victory and are 10-2-1 as the host this year.
On the other hand, Chicago is just 2-3-1 as the guest and has lost three straight away from home. The Blackhawks will look to end that skid out west, as they visit Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, San Jose, Anaheim and Los Angeles on the swing.
NHL
-
Steve Mason gets his chance to rebound tonight, as Columbus kicks off a season-high five-game road trip versus the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center.
With Mason, last year's rookie of the year, struggling in net to the tune of a 7-5-2 mark, 3.67 goals-against average and .879 save percentage, Blue Jackets head coach Ken Hitchcock elected to go with Garon in net over the last two games. This comes after Mason was drilled for eight goals in a 9-1 loss to the Red Wings last Wednesday.
NHL
-
New Jersey will try to win for the seventh time in eight trips to the Music City tonight, as it battles the streaking Predators at Sommet Center.
The Devils began the season with nine straight road wins, the second-longest run to begin a campaign in NHL history. However, their bid to tie the 2006-07 Buffalo Sabres for the best road start in league history came up short on Monday in a 3-2 loss at Philadelphia.
NHL
-
The Coyotes have won two out of three and are coming off Wednesday's close victory in Minnesota. Phoenix hasn't notched consecutive victories since ending October on a three-game winning streak. After going 9-4-0 in the first month of the year, the Coyotes are just 3-5-0 in November.
Scottie Upshall scored the game-winning goal with 4:39 left in the third period, as Phoenix held on for a 3-2 win over the Wild at Xcel Energy Center.
NHL

Pittsburgh had been mired in a four-game losing streak recently, but that skid ended Saturday at home as Evgeni Malkin returned from injury and notched three assists in a thrilling 6-5 overtime win over Boston. The Penguins made it two wins in a row with Monday's 5-2 victory against visiting Anaheim.
Malkin was held pointless in the win over the Ducks, but Pittsburgh is still glad to have him back in the lineup after going 2-5-0 during the Russian centerman's seven-game absence due to a shoulder injury.
