• Montreal Championship coming to Champions Tour

  
  

  Montreal, QC (Sports Network) - The PGA Tour and Synchro Sports announced on Thursday that the Montreal Championship was added to the Champions Tour in 2010.

  The 54-hole event will take place July 2-4, 2010 at Fontainebleau Golf Club. The total purse is $1.8 million with the winner getting $270,000.

  "We realize the strategic importance of growing the Champions Tour brand globally and establishing a strong presence in Canada," said Champions Tour President Mike Stevens. "Following the overwhelming success of the 2007 Presidents Cup, our players are excited to be back playing in Canada and looking forward to visiting and showcasing the Champions Tour in the world- class city of Montreal." The 2007 Presidents Cup took place at Royal Montreal Golf Club.

  Club de Golf Fontainebleau hosted the 2004 Skins Game with Phil Mickelson, John Daly, Vijay Singh and Hank Kuehne.
