PGA

  • The top-144 players on the FedEx Cup points list are eligible, but we know the field will be at least two players short as Tiger Woods and Luke Donald are out for the year with injuries.

Six more players have decided to skip the event - Lee Westwood (No. 50 on the points list), Justin Rose (78), Alex Cejka (91), Jason Bohn (96), Bob Estes (124) and Roland Thatcher (140).

CHAMPIONS

  • Funk closed with a three-under 69 to post 19-under-par 269. For Funk, it was his fourth Champions Tour win and first major title, which came one event after he tied for second at the U.S. Senior Open.

"It actually feels good to win one of these majors. It feels really good to finish one off," said Funk, who collected $392,00 for the victory. "Obviously, two weeks at the Broadmoor I didn't quite finish one off, but it feels really good." Mike Goodes took second at 16-under-par 272 after a final-round, four-under 68 at Crosswater Golf Club at Sunriver Resort.

LPGA

PGA

  • Pettersson tripped to a bogey at the last to close a round of two-under 68. That gave him a tournament record score of 21-under-par 259. The previous mark of 265 was set by Jesper Parnevik in 1999. Pettersson also set new 36- and 54- hole scoring records along the way.

McCarron took the lead after Pettersson bogeyed 10 and 11 at Sedgefield Country Club, but played the last seven holes in plus-one to close a round of two-under 68. He ended alone in second place at 19-under-par 261.

LPGA

  • Kang, who owned at least a piece of the lead after each of the first two rounds, fired a final-round, four-under 68 to join Sheridan in a tie at 11- under 205 after regulation. Sheridan shot a six-under 66 on Sunday.

Kang earned $14,000 for her first victory.

  • De Jonge posted a one-under 69 and established a new tournament record en route to the win. He finished at 13-under 267, which bested Rick Price's previous mark from 2005 by two shots.

"It was as hard as I thought it was going to be," said De Jonge, who pocketed $108,000 for the win and moved to second on the tour's money list.

EUROPEAN

  • Hanson became the first Swedish player to win this event since Jesper Parnevik claimed victory in 1998. This was Hanson's first win on the European Tour since claiming victory at the 2005 Open de Espana en Andalucia.

"It feels great, of course," said Hanson. "It's been a long wait for me." Heading into the par-three 18th, Hanson held a slim one-stroke lead. After Edberg put his tee shot just short of the green, Hanson fired his tee shot onto the green and left himself with a mid-range putt. Edberg's chip shot slowly rolled past the left side of the hole. He would tap in for par, allowing Hanson to two-putt his way to victory.

CHAMPIONS

  • Funk completed 54 holes at 16-under-par 200, one off the tournament's 54-hole record.

Funk picked up his third Champions Tour win earlier this year at the MasterCard Championship and he will go for his first major championship title on any tour on Sunday.

LPGA

  • Tseng, who won the McDonald's LPGA Championship earlier this year, completed 54 holes at 14-under-par 202. Earlier in the day, Tseng capped a round of eight-under 64 to grab a share of the lead after two rounds.

The second round was completed Saturday morning after play was suspended Friday due to inclement weather.

PGA

  • Pettersson, who set the new 36-hole scoring record here and matched the PGA Tour's record for lowest opening 36 holes, smashed the tournament's 54-hole scoring mark with his three-day total of 19-under-par 191.

The Swede broke his countryman Jesper Parnevik's record. Parnevik set the old mark of 195 in 1999. Pettersson's 191 total was two off the tour record for lowest opening 54-hole score.

  • Through 54 holes, De Jonge stands at 12-under 198 and is three ahead of Jonathan Fricke and Greg Owen. Fricke fired an impressive seven-under 63 on Saturday, while Owen shot a three-under 67.

Leading money winner Jarrod Lyle finds himself alone in fourth. He is four back of the leader. Alex Prugh and David Hearn share fifth place, five behind De Jonge.

EUROPEAN

  • Hanson, who shared the lead after both of the first two rounds, finished 54 holes at 10-under 200 at Arlandastad Golf Club.

Nick Dougherty was tied for first with Hanson, but struggled late on Saturday. He managed an even-par 70 and is tied for second place with Daniel Chopra (67), Pelle Edberg (66), Soren Kjeldsen (68) and Gary Orr (67). The group is knotted at eight-under 202.

CHAMPIONS

  • Langer's late bogeys capped a round of six-under 66. He completed two rounds at 10-under-par 134 as did Tim Simpson, who posted a five-under 67 in the second round. Simpson was one of seven leaders after the opening round of the season's fourth major.

Fred Funk also posted a 66 to move into a share of third place at minus-nine. He was joined there by Senior PGA Champion Jay Haas (68) and Mike Goodes (67).

PGA

  • Pettersson finished two rounds at 15-under 125, which matched the PGA Tour's record for lowest opening 36 holes. Tiger Woods, Mark Calcavecchia, Tom Lehman and Corey Pavin all posted 125s on tour.

The total easily established a new tournament record. Fellow Swede Jesper Parnevik had the former 36-hole mark of 128 en route to victory in 1999.

  • De Jonge is through 36 holes at nine-under 131 and is two ahead of overnight leader Bob May, who lost the 2000 PGA Championship in a playoff to Tiger Woods. May shot a one-under 69 to complete two rounds at seven-under 133.

Jeff Gallagher fired a five-under 65 Friday to move into a share of third place at six-under-par 134. He was joined there by Greg Chalmers (68), Greg Owen (68), David Hearn (66), David Schultz (69) and Garrett Osborn (66).

LPGA

  • Ochoa, the overnight leader, finished two rounds at 10-under 134 and is two ahead at Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club.

The second round was suspended due to inclement weather. Play was stopped for almost three hours before officials decided to suspend play for the day on Friday.

EUROPEAN

  • Dougherty and Hanson, both of whom were first-round co-leaders, are knotted in first at eight-under 132 at Arlandastad Golf.

CHAMPIONS

  • Craig Stadler, Gene Jones, Mark Wiebe, Tim Simpson and David Eger also sat atop the leaderboard at the Champions Tour's fourth major of the year at Crosswater Golf Club at Sunriver Resort.

Forty-six of the 67 players who teed it up on Thursday shot par or better.

  • Dave Schultz is alone in second place at five-under 65 at Irondequoit Country Club.

May began on the back nine Thursday and flew out of the gate. He birdied his first two holes, then parred No. 12. May, who has battled back injuries since his playoff loss at Valhalla, birdied the 13th and parred his last five on his opening side.

LPGA

  • 1 Lorena Ochoa fired a six-under 66 on Thursday to take a one-shot lead over world No. 2 Annika Sorenstam after the first round of the Canadian Open.

Even though it's just Thursday, this could be the battle golf fans have wanted to see, a duel between Ochoa and Sorenstam, the two most dominant players of this generation.

PGA

  • Tim Clark posted a six-under 64. He was joined in a share of third place by Scott Sterling, Carl Pettersen and Garrett Willis.

The big story this week is players battling to get into the FedEx Cup playoffs as this is the final event before the playoffs start. The top 144 on the points list get in and the two leaders rank in the 160s on the points list right now.

PGA

  • With Tiger Woods out for the year, the top-eight in the U.S. Ryder Cup standings were set after last week's PGA Championship. Those eight are Phil Mickelson, Stewart Cink, Kenny Perry, Jim Furyk, Anthony Kim, Justin Leonard, Ben Curtis and Boo Weekley.

Robert-Jan Derksen is one of seven players one shot off the lead. He shares fourth place with Peter Baker, Peter Fowler, Gary Orr, Paul Broadhurst, Martin Erlandsson and Terry Pilkadaris.
