  • Saints pick up CB McAlister

New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - The New Orleans Saints added experience to their defensive backfield Wednesday by signing cornerback Chris McAlister.

The 10th overall pick in the NFL draft in 1999 by Baltimore, McAlister spent his first 10 seasons in the league with the Ravens. He was released by Baltimore last February.

The move to sign McAlister comes as the Saints are dealing with injuries to a pair of starting cornerbacks -- Jabari Greer (groin) and Tracy Porter (knee).

The 32-year-old McAlister has 26 interceptions during his career, which has spanned 135 games.

The Saints remain one of two unbeaten teams (Indianapolis) this season and will try to push their record to 10-0 this Sunday when they play at Tampa Bay.
