• Blue Bombers name LaPolice head coach

  
  

  Winnipeg, MB (Sports Network) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers named Paul LaPolice its head coach on Friday.

  He takes over for Mike Kelly, who was fired in mid-December after just one season in the wake of an arrest for an alleged domestic dispute.

  Kelly compiled a 7-11 record in his only season guiding the club, missing out on the CFL playoffs.

  LaPolice spent the last three seasons with Saskatchewan, including 2008 and 2009 as the club's offensive coordinator. He'd also been offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach with the Bombers from 2002-03.
