BC's Printers heads CFL Players of the Week
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - British Columbia quarterback Casey Printers, Lions defensive end Ricky Foley and Edmonton kick returner Skyler Green have been selected as the CFL's top performers for the divisional semifinals week.
Printers took home offensive player of the week honors after he led the Lions to a 34-27 overtime victory against Hamilton in the Eastern semifinal. It was Printers' eight-yard touchdown strike to Ian Smart on BC's possession in overtime that secured the win.
He ended 24-of-35 for 360 yards with the touchdown and added a rushing score in the win.
Foley was instrumental in BC's win on the other side of the ball, posting two sacks, six tackles and a forced fumble to take home both defensive player of the week and Canadian player of the week awards.
Rounding out the weekly winners was Green, who earned special teams honors despite the Eskimos' 24-21 loss to Calgary in the Western semifinal. Green racked up 176 yards on five kick returns, including a 93-yarder for a touchdown to answer a Stampeders score in the third quarter. In addition, he returned four punts for 77 yards in the loss.
