• Stamps WR Bryant heads CFL Players of the Week

  
  

  Toronto,ON(Sports Network) -Calgary wide receiver Romby Bryant, Hamilton defensive end Justin Hickman, Winnipeg kick returner Jovon Johnson and Saskatchewan wide receiver Rob Bagg have been selected as the CFL's top players for the 17th week of the season.

  Bryant earned Offensive Player of the Week accolades with a career-best performance in the Stampeders' 30-7 win over Edmonton. Bryant produced career highs of nine receptions and 211 yards, including three grabs of more than 40 yards, helping to set up Calgary for a pair of scores.

  Hickman garnered Defensive Player of the Week honors with three sacks and four tackles in the Tiger-Cats' 26-17 victory against Toronto. Two of Hickman's sacks came in the fourth quarter, helping to deny a comeback bid by the Argonauts.

  Johnson captured the Special Teams Player of the Week award for a third time in the last four weeks. He racked up 254 total return yards including a 79- yard punt return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to help ensure a surprising 41-24 defeat of the league-leading Montreal Alouettes.

  Bagg rounded out the weekly winners with Canadian Player of the Week honors.

  In a 33-30 triumph over the BC Lions, Bagg recorded a team-high eight receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown.
