  • Blue Bombers snap Alouettes' six-game win streak

Winnipeg, MB (Sports Network) - Michael Bishop tossed two touchdowns to help the Winnipeg Blue Bombers take a 41-24 win over the Montreal Alouettes.

Bishop went 17-for-33 with 411 yards and an interception while Terrence Edwards caught six passes for 156 yards and a score for the Blue Bombers (7-9), who have won four of their last five games.

Adrian McPherson went 20-for-35 with 232 yards and a score and added 11 carries for 95 yards and a touchdown for the Alouettes (13-3), who have already won the East Division title.

Montreal struck first on a 28-yard field goal from Damon Duval, but Winnipeg answered with a 23-yard boot by Alexis Serna.

The Alouettes got a 41-yard field goal from Duval later in the first quarter for a 6-3 lead, but the Blue Bombers got the last point of the quarter on a single from Troy Westwood.

A pair of Serna field goals, one from 29 yards and the other from 20 yards, gave Winnipeg a 10-6 lead, but Montreal made it a one-point game on a 30-yard boot between the uprights by Duval.

However, the Blue Bombers took a commanding lead into the locker room on two touchdowns.

The first was a 57-yard TD catch by Edwards and the second a 53- yard touchdown grab by Titus Ryan, which gave Winnipeg a 24-9 lead.

Montreal closed the gap in the third on a conceded safety followed by a nine- yard touchdown run from McPherson, making it a 24-18 contest.

The Blue Bombers, though, got a one-yard dash into the end zone by Ricky Santos to take a 31-18 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Blue Bombers continued to pour it on in the fourth as Serna booted a 15- yarder, and Jovon Johnson later returned a punt 81 yards for a TD and a 41-18 lead.

The Alouettes got six points back on a 19-yard touchdown grab by Andrew Hawkins that saw the two-point attempt fail.

That made it a 41-24 game with under six minutes to play, and Winnipeg held on from there.

Game Notes Montreal had a six-game winning streak stopped...These teams meet again on November 1 in Montreal...Ryan had four catches for 140 yards in the win...Montreal had won four of five against Winnipeg entering Saturday's contest.
