Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Kevin Glenn threw for 322 yards and a touchdown, as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats defeated the Toronto Argonauts, 26-17, to improve their playoff chances.
Glenn completed 28-of-38 passes for the Tiger-Cats (7-9), who now sit two points ahead of Winnipeg for second place in the East Division, although the Blue Bombers have played one fewer game.
DeAndra' Cobb rushed for 80 yards on 17 attempts and also caught a touchdown pass, as Hamilton snapped a four-game losing streak.
Arland Bruce III had five catches for 96 yards against his former team, and Nicholas Setta converted all four of his field goal attempts.
Kerry Joseph completed 14-of-23 passes for 242 yards and two scores for the Argonauts (3-13), who have lost six straight and are 1-13 in their last 14 home games, dating back to last season.
Joseph also led the team in rushing with 55 yards on six attempts.
Jason Carter had three catches for 96 yards and a touchdown, while Jamal Robertson crossed the 1,000-yard plateau for the season by rushing for 33 yards on 13 attempts. He now has 1,023 yards in the campaign.
Hamilton raced out to an early lead and never looked back.
The Tiger-Cats received the opening kickoff, and Setta drilled a 45-yard field goal for an early lead.
After Toronto failed on a 3rd-and-2 from its own 38, Hamilton drove down for a score, as Adam Tafralis' one-yard run into the end zone opened up a 10-0 cushion early in the second quarter.
With about 7 1/2 minutes until halftime, Glenn finished off a five-play drive for the Tiger-Cats with a 12-yard touchdown pass to Cobb for a 17-point advantage.
Setta added a 15-yard field goal right before halftime for a 20-0 margin at the break.
Joseph's one-yard touchdown pass to Johnson early in the third put the Argos on the board, but Hamilton went into the final quarter ahead by 16 after Setta's 34-yard field goal just before the period ended.
Justin Medlock's 17-yard field goal midway through the fourth brought Toronto to within 13 points, and Joseph found Carter for a 95-yard touchdown with 3 1/2 minutes remaining to make it a one-score game at 23-17.
Hamilton, though, was able to sustain a drive down the field on the ensuing possession, cutting the clock to 55 seconds while adding a 17-yard Setta field goal to effectively seal the win.
Game Notes The two teams split four meetings this season...Robertson became the fifth player this season in the CFL to rush for over 1,000 yards...Hamilton is just 2-6 on the road this season.
