  • Early dividends: Kentucky's Wall sinks last-second winning shot

Lexington, KY (Sports Network) - Freshman guard John Wall scored 19 points and drilled the game-winning jumper with 0.5 seconds remaining, as the fourth- ranked Kentucky Wildcats snuck past a feisty Miami-Ohio RedHawks club, 72-70, in a non-conference affair at Rupp Arena.

Making his Kentucky debut, Wall raced down the court and made the winning jumper seconds after Kenny Hayes tied the tilt with a long three-pointer from the top of the arc.

Wall, who also dished out five assists, missed the Wildcats' season opener due to serving the final portion of a suspension for recruiting violations. Wall added three steals to cap his big performance.

Patrick Patterson added 17 points and 10 rebounds for Kentucky (2-0), which was coming off a 75-59 win over Morehead State on Friday. DeMarcus Cousins ended with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats, who shot 49.1 percent from the field.
