• Blue Jays re-sign McDonald to two-year deal

  
  

  Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - The Toronto Blue Jays re-signed shortstop to a two-year, $3 million contract on Wednesday.

  McDonald has spent the last four-plus seasons with the Blue Jays and played 73 games for the team in 2009.

  The versatile infielder batted .258 with four homers and 13 runs batted in last season for Toronto.

  He is most known for his fielding ability, committing only three errors in 57 games in the field at shortstop, third base, second base and outfield.

  Over 11 seasons with Toronto, Detroit and Cleveland, McDonald is batting .238 with 13 homers and 134 RBI.
